How was your November 2021

Recommended Posts

November 2021 shows me that I'll have my most sales in a year. Just one away with a month to go. But . . . fees are way down. I've had just three $$$ sales in this past year. If I were doing this principally for money, I'd have to drop in at an NHS mental health clinic.

3 refunded and rebought at about the same price, probably buyer changed budget.

I asked about that once, apparently they may be rebilled under slightly different licence terms, and the differences don't show on the summary we get.

66 for $1522 gross = average of $23 gross or $9 net. Poor return. Below the apparent average.

3 in the $$$ category, highest $175. both the highest and second highest payments were for TV use.

No refunds! First month for a long time! I do my own DACS.

Another reasonable month for me @ 7 for $127 + $86 Dacs.

Strange month in so far as the lower sales came early in the month and the better ( slightly ) came at the end. Normally it is the other way round.

Worryingly only had 1 more zoom than sales. Lowest for a long long time.

You've identified a new price category (¢¢). 😧

In a word -lousy! 4 sales for under £38 gross and then hit by a $15 reduction for some affiilate fee for an image sold 2 months ago (and still not cleared) so actually a loss on the month. When supposed "personal use" sales are making far more (actually $$) than perpetual web and magazine use it's hardly worth the effort anymore.

8 sales for $163 gross, $54 net - ouch net was only 33% of the gross due to distributor commission

So my average average $20 gross/sale , below the $30 average indicated by Alamy

Also got a DACS TV usage fee of $24 via Alamy which helped the month

Where is the average $30/pic coming from if none of us have any close to the claims

Previous years? Perhaps this year some large customers have recently negotiated some new bulk deals with much lower prices (as being reported in another thread)??

Let's hope the volume goes up to offset the reduction in average fees.

4 for $203 gross/ $81 net, all on the the last day of the month to make my best month of the year.

Means I only need $6 more to be sure of maintaining my Gold status into the next year. Just shows how little I got for the 11 sales I've had since the 1st of July. Suppose I have to be thankful for small mercies.

The $30 is presumably including Live News, which traditionally has sold for more; though I've read of some very low LN sales recently too.
