November 2021 Challenge: Weather

Michael Ventura

Recommended Posts

In this time of climate change and severe weather I would love to see your best weather related photos...they don't have to be severe but the weather has to be the "focus" of the photo.  Any kind of weather other than just a pretty sunny day...it can be rain, sleet, snow, fog, floods, wind etc..  As usual, just three photos each person and they must be in the Alamy library. I hope to see a torrent or flood of your best weather photos!!  Let em rain!!  Here are my samples but I know there are a lot better photos in your collections!  Submission will close at midnight GMT on November 30th.

Congratulations on your win, Michael. It was a really good portrait, but I'm sticking with veggieburgers. 🍔 😁

Mind you, our guides were doing an excellent job of continually moving in front of the lion so we could get the shot. That's what we were paying them for. What fun!

Penshaw Monument; I could see from my bedroom window from across the river Wear.

Roker and Seaburn;  Spent many happy hours in my youth along the front.

High Force; Visited the area many times.

Thanks for the memories.

Bryan, I'm such a big lighthouse fan but haven't gotten one in a storm yet! A few years ago, while driving to the midwest to look at grad schools with my daughter in winter, I thought it would be a great idea to visit the Great Lakes and get one of those awesome photos of frozen water and a lighthouse. I spoke with a friend from Indiana who quickly dissuaded me by telling me I'd have a long icy walk on my way and at "our age" i might want to reconsider. I did. Love your lighthouse image - I'm jealous of that stormy sea!

Thanks Marianne. We love living near the coast,  my wife and I used to race sailing dinghies on the sea when we were younger, and now there is rarely a week goes by when we don't cycle there, or take a walk along the shore. I have more photos of that lighthouse than you can shake a stick at, including some where the waves crashing over the pier are as high as the tower.
