One sale for $50, of my own right hand, taken by my own left hand!

Never mind, I've been paid in successive months for the first time ever, so must be going in the right direction.

Hope you managed to get a model release signed!! :)

Not a chance - the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing ;)

Also email from alamy advising of strong demand for australian images

Hmm interesting - I put a few hundred shots I took in Aus on Alamy back in Jan and things were pretty quiet on them for a while, but recently zooms and views are picking up considerably and I am starting to get sales. And just as I read your post, an explicit view by Alamy number popped up this morning.

After a while of making some progress with regular sales and payouts starting to fall in July was very poor for sales, only one small news image came in yesterday.

Zooms however are doing much better than average at the moment. It all seems so random.

I do have a cleared balance though for a payout.

Hey! I did one like that recently and it was zoomed. Buyer must have chosen your image over mine. :)

Steady decline in last 3 months, worst month so far this year for licenses (24) and worst for a very long time for $$$$.  Today one of larger of my 24 licenses has been refunded.  Happy days!!!

BME - finally got past 50+ sales in a month, and past $3K gross in a month

This year however very variable - 2 of the previous months have been my worst months for over 2 years - rather inconsistent

Very disappointing here with 2 sales, a total of 47 with others,  come on Alamy it's time to get the whip out and start catching up!

Wow, Alamy must be listening, 2 sales just came in.

If it really works that way... Dear Alamy, can I order the same batch of sales, please? :D:P

Tends to happen if your a specialist - I get similar results with the net average with the specialist agencies/own sales averaging 70% more.

To suceed with Alamy I reckon you need regular topical submissions covering a large range of subjects with a high people content!

However most years I get 2 to 3  four figure sales thro Alamy -something which rarely happens with other outlets.

Jul slightly under average @$73.00 gross.

Need a few $100 gross months to make up for really lousy Apr-May-Jun...

Or even just one $170 gross mo. will fill the bill...

Go ahead, educational publishers, get jiggy with it!!!!

HAHA, love your style, Jeff.. I have however gone ahead and edited your post to correct the typos so the others don't get the wrong idea.  ;)

July was slower for me with below average number of licenses, and lower per license fees. However the first six months of 2014 had already passed 2013 in net revenue- helped by a large 4-digit sale, now cleared and paid!

Ummm, I don't see anything wrong with Jeff's original post or figures - no typos that I can see.

I think you'll find that his figures refer to his total takings for the month, rather than an average figure received for each license, which is what I believe you have presumed?
