John Mitchell
I'll echo Kumar thanks. An appropriate challenge for the misty month of March. Perhaps we'll find AlexH in the mist. 😊
Colin Woods
Three from me A tree in the mist in Mont Tremblant, north of Montreal. For some odd reason, some of my pictures get all squashed when I post them here. To see it in its proper dimensions you have to click on it. A boat in the morning mist in the Baie des Chaleurs in Gaspesie. This was photography the lazy way, taken through the window of our house. It wasn't all easy for me though - I actually had to put my coffee down before taking the picture. A hiker in the mist on Snowdon in Wales, UK. Allan I see them now and then....maybe they have other names in different parts of the world. Don’t know how it got it’s name though. Here is the Wikipedia definition: “The sun dog is a member of the family of halos, caused by the refraction of sunlight by ice crystals in the atmosphere. Sun dogs typically appear as a pair of subtly colored patches of light, around 22° to the left and right of the Sun, and at the same altitude above the horizon as the Sun.” Edited March 11, 2020 by Michael Ventura

Betty LaRue
51 minutes ago, Allan Bell said: A sun dog? Not heard that expression before. What does it mean or relate to? Allan It does relate to freezing fog. That’s the only time I’ve seen them. A rare event. I took this over my back fence in Oklahoma City. Why it’s called the “dog” part of sun dog, who knows. Did you notice the sun has been distorted into the shape of a diamond? Saw this explanation.Patches of light that sometimes appear beside the sun are called sundogs. The scientific name is parhelion (plural: parhelia) from the Greek parēlion, meaning "beside the sun." Speculation is that they are called that because they follow the sunlike a dog follows its master. Edited March 11, 2020 by Betty LaRue
Marianne
Fog begins to lift in the early morning hours as the white night turns into a colorful sunrise, Stockholm Archipelago, Sweden: Mist rises from the Gullfoss Waterfall, Iceland: Mist rises as the Chappaqua Fire Department and several neighboring fire departments fight a blaze two doors down from my house in the early morning hours. This is one of the first photos I ever took with my Olympus OMD-E1. I got it hours earlier and it was charging when I was awoken by the fire. Thanks Jill for taking this over. Great concept. I didn't realize how many misty and foggy images I had. I also just spent ages fixing keywords, etc. These contests are such a good way to take a second look through images - It makes me realize what I haven't uploaded and also shows me how many images have next to no supertags and way too many keywords as well as missing ones. Thanks again for stepping up Jill. I really enjoy seeing everyone's concepts each month.

Autumn Sky
My last entry: This winter landscape was taken couple of years ago on a snowshoeing trip in Banff National Park, Canada. That long horizontal ridge center right is called "Monarch Ramparts" and sits on Continental Divide & provincial border between Alberta and British Columbia. Mt. Monarch above. In the distance far left is famous Mt. Assiniboine, aka "Matterhorn of the Rockies". These meadows below are dotted with lakes in summer. I was just returning from successful ascent of unofficially named "Healy Pass Peak" when this low cloud rolled in creating almost surreal view. From here it is ~4 hours back to trailhead & I hiked with headlamp, but this was small price to pay for this outstanding alpenglow
