Not really an Alamy result but 2019 and positive for me - I have opened a business bank account and am now officially a business.  Tiny step probably of not much consequence but still chuffed.

Little tip with business banking....

If you pop in to the branch and there is a queue, ...to be seen promptly just wave your larger than normal paying in book around and they'll see to you straight away !

I just made my first two sales with Alamy, which I'm pleased about as I've not been here long and don't have a lot uploaded yet. I didn't expect to make a sale for a year or so.

It was nice, because as I sat down to keyword today, I thought, "I don't even know why I'm doing this. It's probably pointless."

Guess I know what I'll be doing today. :-)

I also had a Stockimo sale a few weeks ago, so that was reassuring. I won't be leaving my journalism career anytime soon — wouldn't want to — but I'm hoping to bolster my income.

No worries. :)

Edit . I see they've been combined now anyway.

Just topped $6,000 in total sales on my dashboard. I have a query though, as my total sales in my account balance shows around $150 more. Is this because the latter includes sales that were refunded?

Well done Sally, just goes to show what you can achieve with hard work. Your portfolio number for a relatively short time is quite a feat. Just rewards I say. congrats

Thanks. It has taken a lot of time, effort and learning. This forum has been extremely helpful, as I was completely new to stock when I joined.

Yes.

Dashboard appears to correct itself in time, but a/c balance doesn't, either sales total or number of sales, so a refund and resale appears as 3 items- both sales and the refund.

As long as the bunce gets to my bank account I don't fret about it.

Edit- I've just checked and my balance of account is the same as dashboard now- there have definitely been times when it wasn't- but the number of items is still high due to refunds.

Same here.

Since when do we have green and red numbers on the Balance page?

Nice clear feature for innumerates like me. (And so very simple.)

I think that's new today.

Though I preferred the symbols to "cleared" and "uncleared". Easier to see at a glance.

I like "cleared" and "uncleared". I tended to forget what the symbols stood for since my brain interpreted o as being zero and therefore not good. Or do I have it confused again?
