  1. Omg Alan... you ate a mushroom that you weren`t sure of?... my Dad would have done the same...lol.. glad you`re still with us
  2. Shaggy Parasol? Chlorophyllum racodes. Maybe an immature before it starts to "shag"
  3. Bryan, how did that work out with the foil?.. I bet you had a lot more light as well as the greenhouse being warmer too. I always used to dig up my dahlias and store the tubers in a cardboard box in the garage... for the most part, it was successful. Last year a couple got left in the ground and they came up this year, so I decided I`d leave them all in and mulch heavily over top... it`s getting to be way too much work to be lifting and dividing. If they don`t survive, so be it, but at one time I had 60 of them.. couldn`t bring myself not to save any. I know the roof
  4. My greenhouse has always been my happy place.... got it bubble-wrapped today to help ward off the cold winter they say is coming our way this year... never tried to insulate it before, but want to over-winter my geraniums and start seeds early in the spring. Geraniums are potted up and thriving nicely inside right now. We`ll see how it goes.
  5. Thanks for your response, Harry, but, it doesn`t make sense to me that different browsers would show a different sales page that originate with Alamy. And you mention different pricing too... hmmm... curious...
  6. While doing some research I discovered that when I click on on image in Safari and the same image in Firefox, the sales pages are different. A bit disappointing that for Rights Managed in Safari, the customer can`t make up their own mind about the terms of a license, but has to contact Alamy through a supplied phone number or email in a drop down window labelled Build a License to get an instant quote about volume pricing deals... No wonder sales are slow.
  7. My mom was very musical. She owned and played a baby grand piano and an electronic organ.. the big kind they used to make, not these digital ones that are common today... however, no matter how hard she tried to teach me, I did not have the aptitude for it... I took after my dad I guess... I still have her organ, which I inherited after she passed away... can`t bring myself to get rid of it... they depreciate like cars, so wouldn`t be able to get much for it anyway.
  8. Mid $.. second license for this one. Country: Worldwide Usage: Editorial, Editorial use for Global Capital prints and social media platforms (websites inclusive). Associated companies Power, Finance & Risk and/or IJ Global also included. Media: Magazine - print, digital and electronic Start: 28 September 2021 Duration: Unlimited
  9. Maybe, same thing I guess, but I still have to shake my head.
  10. All taken care of... after I initially contacted Alamy, Shelley from Contributors Relations contacted me and said they can un-delete if the images are still in pending deletion. She asked me for the ID numbers and within hours my images were back... thanks, Shelley!
  11. Thank you.. I have contacted Alamy.
  12. I chose to hit the delete button on a number of images after the new contract came out. Looking at them now, I feel I over reacted. Is there any way to reverse that action?
  13. I`d be happy to wait for a late payment, if I were to be eligible... nothing coming my way this month
  14. Got the outside windows washed this morning.... don`t know where I got the energy from, but sure feels good!.. Just hope the birdies don`t over indulge on fermenting berries and attack their reflections.
  15. Yes, looks like a Pot Marigold - Calendula officinalis... so they are the same thing. Oops.. I just discovered this site. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/marigold/marigold-vs-calendula.htm So, maybe they`re not the same thing after all.
  16. Fantastic Paulette!!. your wildlife images are amazing, so it`s not surprising they bring the big bucks!
  17. Thank you wim... I have a photo of the fruit which licensed awhile ago...
  18. Finally broke my drought. First license since early May for $. Country: United Kingdom Usage: Editorial Media: Newspaper - national Print run: up to 2 million Placement: Inside and online Image Size: 1/4 page Start: 12 June 2021 End: 13 June 2021 Any placement in paper and online. 19. Good grief.. as if the lowered royalty fees aren`t enough... and look at the expiry dates... how disheartening!.. I see the big G offers coupon codes as well... maybe I should get out before I`m in too deep.
  20. I`ll keep my eye on it and if I notice any further changes, I will e-mail Alamy directly.. as it is, I`ve edited them for now, but the changes will take 24 hours. Also, I don`t submit huge batches at a time, so will be fairly easy to check back from time to time. Thanks for your response, John.
  21. I`ve been following this topic with a great deal of interest. I`m fairly new to stock photography and joined just after the commission rates dropped from 60% to 50%. Nevertheless, I thought Alamy was special and felt excited to upload to my portfolio. I`ve always been very careful in ticking the "editorial only" box with images that contained people or subjects with any brand names or logos, even though I also ticked the box indicating I did not have a release. Just to be on the safe side, I decided to check all my images for the ticks in all the right boxes. I`m sure glad I did, as a num
  22. The difference between $250. a year and $25,000. is a lot.. anyone here at the Platinum level? It will be a struggle for me to continue at the Gold level... sigh!
