As you can see, there is no protection or fence whatsoever. Straight down are the lava lakes glowing and bubbling. There were intermittent explosions, shaking the ground and sending rocks and stones past our head. Then, if there was a wind change, you had those sulphur fumes blowing in your face, chocking you.
