This year, will Alamy provide information on UK magazine and book publisher buyers to identify DACS eligible sales for RF images, or are they going to have to take on more staff to do it for us?

I know which I would prefer, being a DIY guy myself.

I was on my way to do it last time - and it was to be dealt with - some would perhaps say a piece of cake. I registered and did most of the work - I stopped, however, when I found a discrepancy in the numbers I found and the numbers Alamy found. The same day I learned in the forum that it was due to the RF not being traceable.

PS For any questions do a Google search on Alamy Forums posts - I am quite sure all of the problems were dealt with last year. But I am not going to spoil my summer now  :)

Alamy won't provide the information. Either you find examples yourself or you let Alamy do it and pay the 50%.

Personally I have enough ISBN and ISSN numbers myself. I submitted as soon as I got the email yesterday.

DACs are aware of the problem. In  their small print it says that you can alternatively provide an agency list of those sales used in UK mags and books. Last year I downloaded my sales history and edited out irrelevant sales (Non UK, newspaper, commercial etc etc) and sent that along with a list of the ISBNs that I was aware of.  I have done the same this year, and, fingers crossed, that should do the trick.

How do we find out the ISBN for the RM images?

Im trying to fill my form out...

Go over to Amazon and type in your name/Alamy. This way you might have some images turn up and you can also copy the ISBN numbers.

Worldwide does include UK.

We could so with a DACS sticky thread.

On their advice I send a sales summary screenshot for last year (mht archive file) and a net revenue spreadsheet with licence type and territory covering all sales since I started. DACS sort out the info they require. On the online form I put all the ISBNs and ISSNs that I have.

But you only need to put in three of each (for books and magazines).

I put it on the spreadsheet as a footnote anyway. There aren't that many.

They really just want an extra one if you claim to have enough for a higher category.

They haven't so far (hey Alamy - charity begins at home :) )

Since I didn't see an Alamy e-mail this year about their 50% plus "expenses" offer, are we sure it's still on the table?

I'm going to try it myself this year, instead of paying half to Alamy. So, can the experts please see if I'll be doing it correctly as follows:

I'm in Australia, so I should complete the form online, print out and sign. Print a copy of my Alamy sales spreadsheet, (plus UK & world sales from other agents?) edited to exclude all but UK & Worldwide sales. Fill out the Declaration of Residency Form, and add my current tax authority residency certificate (to reduce taxes withheld). Either post or scan and email.

Does it sound right? Anything I've missed?
