KODAKovic
I found my RM sales completely stucked after agency acquisition. I don't have a sale since that period when Alamy has been bought by PM-something.... I guess RM files are not pushed in the same manner as before.... Should i switch my files to RF? Any other experience that way?
M.Chapman
No problems with RM for me... Mark
Ed Rooney
Tutti va bene con RM per io, Lorenzo. All my Alamy images are RM, and I've had two good sales on this slow month. Edo 1
KODAKovic
Don't you find strange after Covid-19 and acquisition of Alamy my sales went to complete 0 since March?
John Mitchell
Can't say that I've noticed any changes. RM seems to be doing fine. However, I am seeing more low-value sales than I used to -- low $$ appears to be the new mid $$, etc. However, that could be due to a lot of factors these days. Nope. A worldwide pandemic with no country left untouched and millions not working for months on end and you're surprised that sales have taken a tumble? The normal rules at alamy can mean that sales falter at any time, (I had a 70-day lull not that long ago), then bounce back, seemingly without explanation. So in these times, you should expect anything. My port is 100% RM, (if that means anything these days). Sales are down. Not changing to RF.
VbFolly
I'm mostly RM, and my sale numbers are similar to last year's (with average price up this year). I think it's important to upload regularly to get regular sales, and looking at your port KODAKovic it looks like you haven't uploaded for quite a long time - that could be the main reason for lack of sales. John Mitchell
You have a lot of images with no people or property in them, so you could experiment with changing some of those to RF to see if it improves sales. Buona fortuna!
Michael Ventura
It does make me wonder. I only have 230 RF images out of roughly 9,500 (all psuedos) and this month, the RF's are 40% of my sales.

When the odd RF one does pop up, the licensing terms usually don't look much different from RM, except that the file size is given with RF licenses. geogphotos
Why doesn't just get rid of RM and RF and provide the licence that the buyer wants at the right price for the use they want? This entire RF v RM thing has become nonsensical. By which I mean if you started today you would not create these licenses. Alamy just licence images. Be bold.

These categories are anachronisms now, but no one seems to able to figure out how to replace them.
Phil Robinson
All my images are RM. There has been a downturn, yes, but I'm still getting sales. No plans to go RF.
geogphotos
I don't detect any difference since the acquisition. Anybody suggesting why there might be one does need to explain their reasoning and 'evidence'.

Ian, that probably would shoot down any compensation from DACS, wouldn’t it?

As long as the licensing terms contained the usage -- i.e. book or magazine -- and the region.

I can't attest to that because I haven't really had any periods where I don't upload, and my collection is still small. I have continued to get RM sales each month. I've had a look at some of your pics and there's not many of 'people doing things'. You've probably read this ad nauseum - before you take the picture, ask yourself what could this image be used for. The first two pages of your port consist mainly of badly taken photos of cars. Then you have a bunch of pics on a beach which I don't know what they could be used for, etc, etc. Just think about what you're taking before you take the pic. more people = more sales. Good luck. If you have a lot of images they can stick around for ages. Edited August 26, 2020 by spacecadet
