SteveFleming
Sale just popped up on my dashboard for $ 8.76 for IMAGE SIZE ONE PAGE!! Yes that's $3.50 to me. Country: United Kingdom Usage: Editorial Media: Magazine - print, digital and electronic Print run: up to 500,000 Placement: Inside Image Size: 1 page Start: 01 February 2022 Duration: In perpetuity Any placement: Inside or cover. I have a lot of cycling content, so often magazines will contact me directly for an image. My page rate is £150, there is never any haggling and the magazines pay it by the end of the month. So why is Alamy giving away images at such a low rate? Yes the publisher may well have a bulk deal but there does seem to be a massive difference. Is Alamy just playing the numbers game despite the market being willing to pay more? 3
Sally
I got two of those yesterday with the same details. I’m wondering if the size is ambiguously worded.
Stan Pritchard
And another one, arrived for me today. Exactly the same terms as Steve and Sally, above. Robert M Estall
Yes, the one price/any size has pretty well become the norm in editorial publishing. And the price gets even worse!

Just taking us as a small percentage of the likely numbers of contributors who would be included in this package, then if they were all a full page the publication would be a cycling War and Peace.

To be fair chips are more expensive these days in London. We are going to have to come up with another descriptor! Neil Holmes
I had 17 of these magazine sales @ $8.76 yesterday. Does anyone know the name of the Magazine ?
BobD
One of those for me too but Mine was only for $8.75. I've been done ☺️ 2
Rolf Adlercreutz
I had one of those too yesterday and I did not go all the way to Svalbard to shoot pictures and then have Alamy sell them for such miniscule amounts. Disappointed! Rolf Stockholm Sweden

Some of my recent sales have been "cheaper than chips". 🙄 Mind you, I did have a couple of decent ones earlier in the month. I think the $8.76 sales might be an image package. That magic number kinda rings a bell.

VbFolly
I had a few of these $8.76 and $8.75 sales. The image subjects range from plants and gardens to record covers and boats, so I think it must be someone like Magazines Direct that sells a few hundred different magazines. Chris Burrows
Mine were in Amateur Gardening a Future magazine. I would guess that something like 90% of the pictures used are from Alamy. Those used tend to be on the small size often 1/16 of a page or less.
