Doc
Hi all! Yesterday several of my images went on sale and I noticed that 7 of them could not be seen - just replaced with a small image icon and the Alamy number. When the mouse was hovered over them the image could be seen, and indeed zoomed normally when clicked on. I waited till today to see if the problem had resolved, but more of my images went on sale today and another 5 could not be seen - neither on desktop computer or iPad (with fast BT Infinity broadband connection) I e-mailed MS and they said the images could be seen and e-mailed me a screenshot saying it was most likely to be due to a delay in Search engine update, so they could certainly see them. I am interested to know if anyone else is having this problem in the last couple of days, and also whether anyone else can see my images in searches (Easy test - type in Hickling Broad in the search box - one of my "defective" images is the first one to come up in the search - Please let me know if you can see it! (Isn't it great? I finally get an image to appear first in a search, and I cant see it!!!!) Doh! Thanks Kumar Sriskandan
Guest Felix Oscar
Interesting - I had the same problem yesterday and was told that the technical team were looking into it. Nevertheless today still the same and many of my images not showing as you have described. Have informed member services again! May make it hard to get sales if clients can't see the images! losdemas
I'm getting the same problem, Kumar. On the first page (120 images) nine images (all yours: direct link) NOT appearing using the search term you gave: D8F84D D8F825 D8F809 D8F80M D8F814 D8F7YC D8F808 D8F82C D8F82H For me, neither do they offer a roll-over or a link to zoom them. Andrew Spiers
Webpage is full of errors. Perhaps the generating of thumbnails didn't work. Definitely one for MS - send them the output below; Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c1.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7BD36903E7-774A-40EB-B39E-17E9266C082E%7D/D8F814.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c1.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7BBCD777E2-C3B3-4B49-8CC0-526FBAEE5F97%7D/D8F84D.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c2.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7B601E03BE-157D-484B-9BF8-250B54C42EF1%7D/D8F80M.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c2.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7B35953A38-46D0-482C-907F-0B913A2F1150%7D/D8F7YC.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c1.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7B5A7E0013-A93D-450A-80AD-22D259CAD264%7D/D8F82H.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c2.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7B047904A2-F256-42D1-B09D-F64CAD94FD28%7D/D8F825.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c1.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7B6EFD9556-25BF-4F00-9FE9-21992C7D1BFA%7D/D8F809.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c2.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7B87E92FA0-8425-4668-A0BC-5BD2E8D286C5%7D/D8F82C.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c1.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7BAB2D0A82-53F0-4390-B6A5-724403333F2C%7D/D8F808.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://c1.alamy.com/thumbs/4/%7BBCD777E2-C3B3-4B49-8CC0-526FBAEE5F97%7D/D8F84D.jpg
Ed Brown
I've had this same problem today, my last submission thumbnails not showing up. Member services also sent me a screengrab showing no problems.

Doc
I have asked MS to look at this thread as there certainly seems to be a problem, and presumably for the buyers also! Kumar Sriskandan
Broad Norfolk
Kumar - I have had the same problem and have been advised that MS/Technical Services are on the case after some correspondence. Await resolution with usual patience! Jim Laws.
Guest Felix Oscar
I have now asked them a number of times in last few days to look at this issue also. Absolutely - maybe thats why sales are so hard to come by - the images are invisible!
fotoDogue
I had the same issue with images keyworded and indexed earlier this week via the Archive/Reportage route. At first I could only see square boxes in the search results and couldn't bring up a thumbnail. Then I checked them in Manage Images and couldn't get a thumbnail there either. Today, using mouseover, gives me an image, and I can see them in manage images, so I guess there's some improvement there. However, when I go to "My ALamy Page" only 3 thumbnails appear. The rest are empty boxes. Other images uploaded via the News route appear fine.
incamerastock
I'm getting the same problem, Kumar. Never seen this before, hope it gets sorted for you. J
York Photographer
Same problem here, the three pictures that went live yesterday are online but its like the thumbnails haven't been generated. Don't think its browser related, no thumbnails in either chrome or safari on the same PC
JohnB
Ditto I have three images at the top of my Alamy home page that do not appear in my Browser. They did appear earlier in the week. They all start with the Alamy code D8F so I assume it's related to a certain batch or date. Must be a problem at Alamy's end. Note to Alamy: D8F. fotoDogue
When I use the link from My Alamy, which searches on my pseudonym, thumbnails that start with D8f are missing. However when I search from the link on this forun, under my avatar, images beginning with D8C are missing thumbnails.... Or maybe it's the other way around. Either way, I seem to have varying results depending on which link I use to begin the search.
York Photographer
Still got three not displaying thumbnails in searches, D8F91Y D8F92E D8F92T, weirdly if you roll over the thumbnail icon the preview appears. MariaJ
I sent them an email about images not showing up on my home page or when in Manage images. I got a response today saying they are having a few issues and the technical team is working on it.
fotoDogue
I received a response from Alamy today that they're aware of the problem and are working to resolve it. I haven't seen any missing thumbnails today and images I uploaded since then are appearing normally. Let's hope this is the end of it.
