In Far North Queensland is a World Heritage area of magical tropical rainforest and idyllic beaches by the Coral Sea. It's called Cape Tribulation and the Daintree National Park.

We have recently been camping right in its heart. Sunrises there were fabulous. Even hubby got up!! Most of the time, we had the beach to ourselves.

A huge lace monitor crawled towards me with its forked tongue out and retreated when hubby came out.

It looks quite magical there.

No bears here Paulette, but crocs, birds, butterflies, reptiles, beautiful spiders galore. And cassowaries.

It's very wild and pristine.

The end of the Wet season in the tropics is ideal to go and chase waterfalls. There's no more rain but they're still running.

It also allowed us to avoid the Easter hordes.

My photos are so mundane but we enjoyed taking a break from our cross-country slog from Ohio to NY last September when we stopped off in Harrisburg, PA to explore a little. I always think of Three Mile Island (which you can see from the highway) when I think of Harrisburg, so I was surprised by what a charming little city it was. People were friendly, and it was one of those beautiful late autumn days that feels like summer. Here are a few, just to get a sense of what it's like, including the impressive Capitol Building and the lovely red brick row houses.

I haven't uploaded here in ages, so I thought I'd share.

I've also been spurred to upload a few images for the "Upwards" challenge so thanks for that! I'll have more to share when they pass QC. (I better start shooting some "sideways" concepts for May)  😎

I agree Marianne, I went there a few years ago with my son, on a central Pennsylvania road trip.  I think we were there in the fall too and had great weather.  We got as close as we could to Three Mile Island and have made a few sales from those pics.

You typed this while I was quoting you 😁

Aussies are larrikins, we see a few good altered signs along the roads...

Mind you, once in Brazil, I saw a road sign 'Obras' (roadworks). Someone had added a 'C' in front...

From my trip this past weekend to Vermont for a wedding.  I got one decent pic of a very wintery scene in central Vermont.  It was actually unusually warm, which caused the fog over the still frozen over lake.

Alexander do not take this to heart and I like the shot but I would have straightened the horizon. Or maybe you wanted an arty image?

So that's who it reminded me of. Your Fab Four images. Such life in these figures. Truly in their pomp.

That's Andy, Andrew Edwards, yes. He did this one on the famous Christmas truce in WW 1. And very recently did a statue here of Brian Epstein.

This was the de-nutting coconut trees operation yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if these guys commonly find a python or two in those fronds. I've seen one myself catching and killing a cockatoo from a palm tree.
