  1. That yacht in your 2JKEY52, A Yacht On Granville Island In Downtown Vancouver, is a Greenline 40 Hybrid. There has only been one search for Greenline hybrid this rolling year, so not a whole lot of interest. Otoh not many images of such a boat on Alamy. I would also include something like solar power in your keywords. Use All of Alamy or AoA for short to find relevant keywords for your images. Or niche subjects that do get searches but few views. wim
  2. Tulips. Worldwide Commercial electronic. Region UK. Additional Details: Website, including online marketplaces such as Amazon and Ebay, social media and app use, any size, single placement and design, worldwide, in perpetuity However it also says: Start: 13-October-2022 ; End: 13-October-2027. Low $. But hey someone hit the buy button 7 times. Or fell asleep on it. wim
  3. Shepard Fairey vs AP comes to mind. But they settled. As did Cariou and Prince (not Tafkap, but Richard, the other Prince). wim
  4. The station looks a lot like a Dutch train station by the architect Margadant, who designed quite a few around 1900. It may well be Den Haag Holland Spoor or HS. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Den_Haag_HS_railway_station The roof structure is 19th century. We have a couple left in the country. Because the structure is quite distinctive and pretty large it can only be situated on a major line that had big stations in the 19th century and still existed in the late fifties / early sixties. Which rules out Rotterdam. So Amsterdam; Haarlem; Den Haag HS. It's not Amsterdam or Haarlem. I was born in Amsterdam and live in Haarlem. 😁 Besides Amsterdam has a different architect. Haarlem is by Margadant, but 20 years later with both Disney castle appearance but with Jugendstil and Deco details. Den Haag HS is firmly end of the 19th century style. Aha here we go: View from the platform. The Royal waiting room is on the right. It's just visible in your image. View from the opposite platform. And one straight on. The Tempo Matador-E first came on the market in 1963. The Hanomag and Tempo are the same car from 2 different factories within a joint venture. Both were coach builders. Part of the interesting history of German car making. Anyway it places your image in 1963 or later. wim
  5. Yes tripod. And a fast burst rate. If the lens is exactly centered in the front nodal point (actually the entrance pupil), you can even pivot the camera and follow a butterfly or bird. He also uses high speed flash a lot. 'Stunning photographs. A man with a profound understanding of the natural world.' Iolo Williams. (here) And of his equipment and photography in general I would add. wim
  6. Yes, great story and great images! That lost purple flip-flop between the cauliflowers! But why flip the wall (or well) of death? He may be right though: what again was that theory about winning and losing armies in pictures? Interesting is that QC is accepting these as some have issues like CA; smeared detail and color noise. Like the bike; the baskets and the canoe. They could be straight OOC jpgs, but even then with just a bit more care in post, color noise and CA would easily be corrected. wim
  7. Is that the one on the Grenada stamps? stamp (bigger here) wim edit 2: Different window layout, so no.
  8. Since I found out that a couple of affiliate sales had been billed the full calculator price, I'm all for it.
  9. It may well have been another invisible filter not related to that lightbox. The problem with these Harry Potter spells is that the user just hasn't applied them knowingly. wim
  10. I just found a workaround for active filters that are not showing. Click any filter button like Rights managed or Royalty free. Wait for it to be applied (may take a while). Now click the now visible Clear all. The search box will work again. So probably all invisible filters have also been cleared. wim
  11. I just tried a search for London after looking at the lightbox for the Queen via the link on Twitter. Nothing nada zilch! And no filter or anything I can set or reset. If this is what clients are seeing, there soon will be not a lot of them left. wim
  12. Yes we broke it with that silly Aesthetic thing. Or it got Covid. I tried %sunset% obviously. wim
  13. And age of the body. Not the camera body. 😁 wim
  14. Not to mention CA. Or maybe not, because there's not a whole lot of CA in those images. Maybe weird keywords help? Like idyllic: But what do we know, right? It may well sell like hotcakes. There must be a reason we're not doing too well. Maybe I should go back to all my film scans and add the keyword Kodak, because nobody knows Velvia anymore. Let's ask AoA first. Maybe forget Kodak too, because clients are not looking for Kodak or Kodachrome style colors in AoA. Fuji? More than Kodak anyway, but mainly all things Mount Fuji. Or like with Kodak specific products. Maybe analog? No. Analogue? Analogue photography flower; Beaver dam analogue, huh? Ok maybe try from the other side and see if people do search for maybe Aesthetic. Nah not really. That Girl aesthetic? Esthetic maybe? 3. Maybe style? Oh no hundreds of searches for Harry Styles. You're kidding right? No: 1180 for the rolling year. There's one for Instagram style couple. One. But one thousand one hundred and eighty for Harry. A couple for things like Japanese street style or old style posters. Film style maybe? None. %style%film% gets me some more Harry Styles of course and Wild Style film. I had to look that one up. It's a film from the early eighties, so definitely analog. See this is where I must have lost contact with the modern world. I blame my art school: we were still into punk and new wave. But the real world already was like this: As always: AoA is your friend. Educating the client is not a good idea. So give them red carpets and celebrities. Hope that Liz Truss slips on that carpet and shows a hint of side boob and get a couple of pennies, maybe even pounds. I'm waiting for what the NYT pays for an image nowadays. I'm not having too high hopes. wim
  15. Hi Alamy, Is there an equivalent project on the client side of things? wim
  16. Try the archival route. Quite a few in that lightbox have the line This image could have imperfections as it’s either historical or reportage. Like the Eyem images. The Stockimo images are not archival, which is weird. But that's another route. And maybe QR has changed? Try including something like analog/analogue; film; kodachrome in your file name. It would be so nice to know if any of those long shots ever sell here. It's clear some of it is selling enough for the bigger newer agencies like Eyem, Johner and Cavan. Because they are producing lots of it. wim
  17. Nah nothing fishy: it's the photographer who is never in any photo. Or his mother. wim
