How can I find out who bought my photos?

Recommended Posts

A few photos of mine (spot news) have been bought by someone for editorial use. I googled (also did a reverse search) but I could not find my photos used anywhere. How can I find out who used my photos and if they did use it?

If you post the detail you were given I can try to find it for you. I can match it against my known sales like The Sun will say Print run: up to 2 million, etc.

Intrigued to note that the police officer has taken time to place a cloth on the car's bonnet, presumably to avoid scratching it, before taking aim with his rifle!

Wait a week or so and do another Google reverse image search. You probably won't find the usage, but it's worth a try.

He couldn't make himself a bigger target if somebody's out there with a gun.

Have a look at the other pics in the OP portfolio. This chap appears to be pointing a big gun at an unarmed naked man on top of a bus.  It doesn't look as if he's in much danger.

Concealed carry is permitted in California.

;-)

I like that the officer has put a towel on the hood first, before striking that pose. He must be a gentle person.

There is not enough fork with a knife and a napkin tucked into the collar of a shirt ...

Just the licence details from "summary of images sold" , eg.

Media: Newspaper - national

Print run: up to 2 million

Placement: Inside and online

Image Size: 1/4 page

Start: 01 January 2017

End: 02 January 2017

Any placement in paper and online. One use in a single editorial article used within the print and digital versions of a single publication. Digital usage includes archive rights for the lifetime of the article.

Could be bbc.com, similar details. Knowing the gross price would help.

Edit- probably not their sort of material.

Since it says Editorial Website, I guess it is for Internet and not for print?

Might be that he's taking care against slipping from the recoil of his weapon. You can never be too careful with those totally naked men.

Interesting that this man changes from white to negro in a heartbeat . . . or are there a cluster of naked men? Well, it is Hollywood.

If you go to your dashboard and click on 'Download Sales Report' ask for all fields and select Date of Invoice (not Date Paid) what REGION bought your photo, US or EU or UK etc?

If you go to My Dashboard, go down to the bottom and click on 'Your Images' then click on 'Your Zooms'. Was it ever zoomed? If so, what were the exact key words that they used. Click on your Pseudonym and it lists the 'Search Term'.

Five years ago I signed-up with Photoshot.com

They have sold well over 1000 BP of my images, but

have never paid me. They have admitted it but claim the company was sold.

Any suggestions how I can recover some of my earned commission money?

Bert
