Slower than normal QC, or am I heading for fail?

Recommended Posts

I was shocked to fail QC this week, it took only one day's wait to be notified, so you should be alright.

I failed for wrong reason number one: image attachment. It was a very rare bird, a threatened specie occuring only in one restricted remote area. Purple crown, turquoise tail up, beak open singing its heart out. Who could bin such a pic? It's a little bird, very active, and of course it had moved, not stopping quite long enough. I sharpened it a bit, it would have been good enough for web use, never mind, I'm not disputing it.

There seems to be a glitch. I uploaded 2 photos last evening, which went into QC. This morning in AIM, the text says they have passed but the images still have "Image in QC" over them, so I can't keyword or caption them. I just uploaded another one, and it has passed straightaway as usual, and can be keyworded.

quick note if it is rare enough on database i remember a few years ago someone reporting here having reportage opened up by support for such an occurrence of a rare species.

Thanks Emu. I managed to re-upload the rest of the batch including other images of the bird, not singing though.

Thanks for that.  Sorry to hear about your QC fail, it is so tempting to upload that special shot, despite there being issues!

Mine passed today, phew !

Previously I would shoot almost all reportage, but now mainly stock, plus I have a big backlog to deal with. Uploaded 12 stock images around 5 - 6pm yesterday, Sunday. Pass email came through 11.31 this morning. That’s good enough for me.

Mine passed this morning after two days - it normally take an hour or two at most. So yes, it seems to be slower than usual. Don't panic (yet)

Same with me. Also had 2 submissions in a row go into QC. Normally only get the odd one, otherwise goes straight through have they suspended no QC for 5 star contributors.

I've had 2 submissions in a row into QC a few times. I was just beginning to wonder if they had suspended QC altogether for 5 stars as I had about 6 batches sail through without being stopped. I guess next upload will be it.

last 2 times through QC went overnight, which is what i usually get from North America.   Still about one QC out of five submission.  Did get a two QC in a row also.

Main problem has been more server picking up images, but that looks fine today as yesterday's uploads are visible.
