geogphotos
The caption on the slide says Cordola, Mexico 1961. But I can't see any place called Cordola. Lots of buses, cheap hotel on the right. Frontier town maybe with the laid out avenue and street lights? Mountains, greenery Adverts for Radiolandia and Montezuma cerveza I'm thinking its impossible but then again the forum can be amazing..... Thanks for looking 😀 Edited September 5, 2023 by geogphotos

Poked around street views a bit and it looks like the lights are now LED but on the original poles perhaps. Volcan Oriziba is 18,000 feet high (I've flown near it and looked only slightly down when the airplane passed it. Orizaba the town is one of the Magic Cities in Mexico, and is cool enough to have apples and an apple festival. The mountain itself is perpetually snow-capped, and a friend here who was a climber in his younger days walked to the summit -- needed crampons but not technical. There's some skiing there. Between Veracruz and Mexico City. Fairly prosperous. Couple of high altitude cities and towns around Orizaba the town. If you're on Facebook, some of the Mexican expat groups might be able to help. Orizaba area had its own group.
