John Mitchell
Sadly, poet and songwriter Leonard Cohen has died. His haunting and soul-searching lyrics will be missed. It's heartening to see that there is a wide variety of images of Leonard Cohen on Alamy. Did any forum members take any of them?

AlbertSnapper
My late Mum gave me a tape of Songs From A Room, his second album, many years ago. I still play the tape even now. Thankfully his work will live on.
John Mitchell
When I lived in Montreal, I used to occasionally see Leonard Cohen in cafés during the late 60's and early 70's. He was usually in the company of beautiful women, so I guess there were perks to being a starving poet. Good article about Cohen in RollingStone. John Morrison
Leonard may have written Trumps's theme song: First we take Manhatten (then we take Berlin). My favourite Cohen song is The Song of Bernadette, by Jennifer Warnes (they co-wrote the song)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCdXjnmu3Uk
Johnnie5
Charlie Rose's This Week program on PBS played a 1988 interview with Cohen when they/we were all much younger. It isn't up on the website yet but should be soon. If you can get PBS stations check your schedule, if not keep watch here http://www.pbs.org/charlierosetheweek/home/
John Mitchell
Lately, I've found myself listening again to one of my favourites, "Democracy" : "I’m sentimental, if you know what I mean/ I love the country but I can’t stand the scene./ And I’m neither left or right/ I’m just staying home tonight,/ getting lost in that hopeless little screen."
