If you go to your Creative Cloud App,  then Help, check for updates, you should be able to get the new Lightroom version and other things. It worked for me.

If you have auto updates turned on it will do it automatically. This may or may not be desirable. In my case I am just finishing off a big job mainly in Lightroom and I don't want to have to learn a new approach just right now to using the grad and radial filters which I use a lot. So I had forgotten I had auto updates on and it just installed the new versions of Lightroom and Photoshop. I had to uninstall the new one and reinstall the older version through the Creative Cloud app which was no hassle at all. As soon as I finish the job I will install V11 and check it out - it looks interesting.

I do have auto updates turned on but it usually takes a couple of days for CC to get around to it. 😐

I wanted to try the new precise masking for myself, so I asked my neighbor Pennywise if he would pose for me for this examination and he heartily agreed. So we went to a nearby forest and I shot a few informal portraits of him. When I got back home, I uploaded the new images into LR and went to work editing a couple of what I thought were the better photos.

Clicking on the select subject mask, it picked out Pennywise right away and did a perfect selection of his hair with no effort on my part. Easy peasy, a few more adjustments and I was done.

I was very pleased with the results and more importantly, so was Pennywise.
