Seville Building ID?

Look at the sequence of pictures and their timings - what happened before and just after.

That might help remind yourself of something about this picture.  Sometimes I go back to the RAWS and looks at the exact timings of pictures along a route that I remember walking, But usually I can remember locations like this really clearly - my 'geographic' brain I suppose.

As I said, James, I could walk to it if I were in Seville. It's west of the Hercules park near the river. But I can't spend the rest of my days doing a Google Maps walk around the complex city of Seville. A red cross on a white shield means the Knights Templar. White on red? Don't know. As far as digging back into RAW files . . . can't do that and it wouldn't help.

Even if I find the building on a map, it won't help with a tag. I don't recall that building having an ID.

What I really need to know for a tag is this: What is the meaning of a white cross on a red shield in Andalusia?

Gracias

Possibly the coat of arms of the Royal, Celestial and Military Order of Our Lady of Mercy and the Redemption of Captives (La Orden Real y Militar de Nuestra Señora de la Merced y la Redención de los Cautivos) – also known as the Mercedarians.

Vicente! You are a Prince among men! I shall recommend you to lead a company or perhaps a regiment in the next crusade. We'll be taking on the Trumpian Republicans. No politics, of course. Just war.

And Allan, I half remembered that it was the side entrance of a large church. But the memory was vague. And 1218 is a little before my time.

A great and beautiful city, James—but street after narrow street that look the same. If I had been able to remain in Spain, I would have moved to Malaga or Valencia.

After the clues of the others it was really easy. Not many Merced things between Hercules and the river.

It is on one of those nice back streets to the river Guadalquivir. Called Calle Guadalquivir: Guadalquivir Street.

Maybe Ed went to have lunch at Casa Manolo León across the street. It could well be Manolo in his image. I have not eaten there, but it is 108 out of 2500 restaurants in Seville.

Wow! did I miss a great interior: https://goo.gl/maps/JEZ6JrmxHan8RaAx7

Next time.

A stroll down Calle Guadalquivir  finds this door. Google captured 2019 slightly different decoration but its the same.

I passed it twice in my virtual map search!

Wim is much too kind and helpful to work for the CIA. That I do know.

I planned a lunch at Casa Manolo. But like many other things in Seville, I didn't get it done. My rental flat was at the south end of the Hercules. Here's my favourite 'waiter' in the city.

Talk about posh! Manolo Leon is it. The waiter at the door was certainly from there. I walked all the Calle in my hood, Michael.
