It was his 80th birthday tour. His actual birthday was still a way off, but no one cared. This is the middle of summer: look at the clothes. His birthday is 31 of January I think. The performance was a little concert by Lavinia Meijer on harp. The rest was talk. Still good though. Lavinia here. This is from that performance I think. There's more. wim edit: if you like that sort of thing: 1 (my previous favorite); 2 (my current favorite); wiki -

My Jammed RX100/6?

My guess is that yours is still under warranty, like mine? Here the current warranty is 5 years. Mine only came with 3 yrs if I remember correctly. That 5 years looks to be a promotion. Anyway there's a repair center locator on the Sony website somewhere. Here I don't need the locator: we only have one for the whole country. Oops there a list of 7 now. Maybe not all are doing cameras. I get a localized page of course, but on your UK Sony support page, the locator is in the footer behind the Repair, Warranty & Spare Parts button. Maybe better to contact Sony support first in these times. wim -

Remember this one? We talked about how to call a girl/woman/female worker connecting a sort of pipe to a plane. It turned out it was among other things called a female lav agent and also a woman ramper doing the lavs. Well she made it to a museum in the US somewhere. First time sale for this image. Museum display. Just lower medium $$$, but highest fee for me so far this year. So if any of you is visiting a museum in Illinois (which is not necessarily Chicago), keep an eye out. I would love to know where she's doing the lavs now. And in what context. We will have plenty of time: it's a 10 year duration. Somehow I don't think it'll make the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. Maybe something to do with aviation? Wow there are at least 18 aviation museums in Illinois. Only 18? Here's is a list of 58! wim -

Great vantage point! Been at the bar and the restaurant, but never been up there on the roof. Google now has the street as Black Lives Matter Plz? Wow. I guess the half mast flag must have been for Joe Biden's son. wim -

Now Hensoldt (UK) which we know from the prism finders on the Hasselblad SLRs or the viewfinder on the SWC. Others may know them for their binoculars or rifle scopes though. No idea about the guy (scientist? politician?). wim

Hmm what do the shadows tell you about the orientation? And where do/did they have so much greenery? Also the main sight on Tarout seems to be that fort. Which sits on top of a hill says Wikipedia. wim edit: Are those mangrove forests like the ones in Abu Dhabi in the background? -

Monitors and picture reliability/ calibration
wiskerke replied to Jansos's topic in Alamy Quality Control and technical talk
I have found this to be a good overview and starting point in the past. This is always a good resource too. However their selector doesn't seem to work anymore. At least not for me. Hoods should not be necessary. But a calibration device should be the first thing you buy once you have decided that images are going to leave your home. Like when you sell them. From under or around 100 quid (depending on where you live: cheap in the US - expensive in the UK and us somewhere in the middle) it should be a no-brainer. This is a good overview, again from Frich. wim -

Nice! Probably because this great ship had quite an adventure because of Corona. She was sailing the Caribbean with a crew of about 12 and as passengers 26 students between 14 and 17 yrs with 4 teachers from St Martin to Cuba, from where they were to fly home again. When the Corona measures were tightening all around them, the captain decided to stay near the Dutch West Indies. However the St Martin airspace was also closed, so they decided to just sail home. They arrived on April 26th in The Netherlands and disembarked 2 days later. One teacher and one student decided not to make the crossing. No account on whether they got home or how. video (mostly Dutch) blog (in English) the arrival (mostly in English) wim -

National Trust
wiskerke replied to philtheclick's topic in Stock photography discussion and contributor experience
That link brings up 99,260 images that have National Trust in their keywords. I've clicked on a few but I have not seen one by the National Trust yet. Does that mean it's not being policed? Not anymore? Only 282 of those 99,260 are property released btw. That's 0.28410235744509366% ! 😂 But 28,906 are RF. That's 29%. Floodgate. 🤦♂️ wim -
Colour Space - SRGB or Adobe RGB?

Yep then the limiting factor is the display. Unless you have an older Apple where the monitor profile was used for everything. Aaargh. wim
