NYCat
I have just learned that Alamy puts picture needs on Twitter. I have too many reasons already for putting off getting images ready and doing my keywording. I don't want to start following Twitter. Please put picture needs on the Forum or the Blog. Paulstw
I find the Picture Needs part on Twitter really useful at times. For instance they just altered us to the fact there is a shortage of pics of Lava Lamps, yet its searched a lot. I just don't see how a contributor can find out where gaps are in the market without being alerted to it.
Keith Burdett
Yes please do post picture needs to the forum somehow.
Lynn Palmer
For those who already spend a lot of time on Twitter it is probably convenient, but I imagine there are a lot of people like me that will never use it enough for it to be a reliable means of communication. Please post Alamy image needs on the forums.
ann
Alamy has a Twitter feed at the bottom of forum's main page: http://discussion.alamy.com/ - so contributors can check there for possible picture needs.(Right now, the dearth of lava lamp photos is one of the *two posts on display.)However, since picture needs could be particularly relevant to forum members, it would be well worth having an ongoing archive/compilation of those posts easily accessible here.Great suggestion, Paulette.*Edited to add: I didn't realize until now that you can scroll down that twitter feed to see later posts! Allan Bell
I always go to the Alamy blog page before coming to the forum so I think picture needs should be on the blog. Allan (not a user of twitter or facebook)
Paulstw
It's probably worth noting that It's nearly always the Alamy News team that tweet picture needs based on trends/events or weather changes. The only picture need I've seen from Alamy Content Team was for Lava Lamps lol
John Mitchell
Personally, I'd like to see more picture needs posted, wherever that might happen to be. At the moment, they are fairly few and far between.
fotoDogue
It's probably worth noting that It's nearly always the Alamy News team that tweet picture needs based on trends/events or weather changes. The only picture need I've seen from Alamy Content Team was for Lava Lamps lol I received an email with three Creative picture requests earlier this week. It was a bit of a surprise since I don't have any Creative images with Alamy. The email notes it was sent out because I'm a registered Alamy contributor. Even so, it seems like a step in the right direction. I'd definitely like to see some reportage/archival requests.
Alamy
It's a good point - we'll look to post more picture needs across the forum although Twitter will always be best because it is instant. Picture needs archived on a forum will quickly become outdated. Cheers Alamy
losdemas
^^ "Twitter will always be best because it is instant." - and can be forgotten about/lost in the Twitter swamp just as instantly! "Picture needs archived on a forum will quickly become outdated." - and older, dated, 'needs' can therefore be referenced as subjects not in current demand.
