Hi all

Just joined Alamy in early October. Slowly but surely adding photos. Not sure of the market for what I shoot but no harm in giving it a go.

Better than just leaving my photos on my hard drive.

I have been reading a lot of the advice given here and am prepared for the marathon. :)

I think you will do well. Your photos are amazing and you seem to know what you are doing when it comes to identifying them. People who need those creatures will appreciate you and come back again when they need something. It may just take a while for them to find out about you. Knowledgable specialists seem to do well here.

Hi Larry

Welcome to the forum. Excellent insect shots - you obviously know your stuff. I love Tipperary. It's a part of Ireland that tends to be ignored but there are some fantastic mountain landscapes there - still relatively unknown it seems even to the natives. Best of luck.

Hi MDM

Thank you. I love my insects. Yes I wouldn't live anywhere else. :)

Even the midges - I'm guessing not :). Yes if I ever move back to Ireland, Tipp (Clonmel area) would be very high on the list of potential destinations.

Welcome Larry - Ballydehob, West Cork here.  You'll do well, you've got good images which fill a niche.  Keep uploading and keywording well and the sales will come.

Hi Andy

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Horseflies are the worst. They bite when you're least expecting it. I do a lot of photography in the Clonmel area. Mainly head down in the bushes. :)

I'm not sure you would be saying that on a still day on a Donegal bog (or Connemara or West Cork for that matter).

Nice shots Larry, hope you've a tube of bite ointment in your kit bag...

:)

Thanks TeeCee. I've been stung and bitten quite a few times but I don't get any bad skin reactions. Some people can get severe rashes etc.
