Matt Ashmore
I suspect Alamy have outsourced their IT to a company in India. India is mostly shutdown today as it's Diwali. So i suspect that a few IT type jobs, like running something to update Alamy Metrics, haven't been run as a result.

John Gaffen
I have a sale which is oscillating like Schrödinger's cat! Still its not all bad, at least I have not been bothered by scammers from India, telling me my computer has a serious problem today!
dov makabaw
When Diwali is over will we be getting the stats at 09.00 as previously. This suited my routine and I suspect others miss the previously prompt position. To those celebrating, Happy Diwali, we love the fireworks!! dov

Matt Ashmore
It hardly ever updates at 9am UK time. That's the absolute earliest but it varies daily from just after 9 up to midday. It's now 10.20am and no update yet. Geoff. Yes, this is what I see too. So either something has to be done manually or traffic through the site can vary wildly from one day to another meaning that on some days it takes longer to calculate the metrics than on other days. Russell
I think they have to run what in the old days we would have termed a "Batch job" to update the metrics.
Pearl
Back in the day it always updated at 8 am UK time, on the dot. Not sure when or why it changed. Pearl
spacecadet
Lots of zooms and views today so I wonder if they have been doing a bit of hoovering and found some old stuff down the back of the sofa.
Matt Ashmore
I think they have to run what in the old days we would have termed a "Batch job" to update the metrics. Still use the term today... and indeed I assume this is exactly what happens... I'd be curious though to know if the variation in time that the metrics are available is down to the amount of data on any given day or the fact that someone manually has to run a command on a computer somewhere to start it and that someone might do this at slightly different times each day.
