This week PAN heard PA Images Managing Director Stephen Munday had left the business …we followed this up direct with PA – this is what a PA Media Group spokesperson told us:

“We are working through plans to integrate all of our commercial photography assets into a single platform.

“The process will see Alamy become the Group’s lead destination for commercial and editorial photography for customers around the world, led by Managing Director Emily Shelley. PA Images content will continue to be available to customers as a brand on the Alamy platform.

“As part of this evolution, there are proposals to reorganise the business in line with Alamy’s new strategic objectives.

“Following the integration of our imagery businesses, Stephen Munday has stepped down from his position as Managing Director of PA Images. Since joining the company in 2015, he has been instrumental in expanding PA Images’ business and building its roster of overseas contributors, which includes Xinhua and dpa.”

PA and Reuters.

Are we moving towards Alamy having collections of 'brands'? Part of me hopes so.

Maybe it is time to be much more positive about what Alamy offers that others don't particularly that Getty and Shutterstock have annoyed their contributors so much.

Think of the potential Alamy has to be a true Tier One agency,

We need JG to do the cheerleading..... 😄

Go Alamy Go

Iain, I think you are correct.  The announcements appears to be moving Alamy into a key position as a specialist editorial stock agency.  What I am unclear about is where that leaves Alamy news shooters?  I have no idea....

Doing more of the local and UK news perhaps. Or becoming absorbed into existing brands.

I'm sure we are all looking forward to having the 'new strategic objectives' outlined to us.

Also curious about their position for outside of UK/Ireland.
