Sadly, this is just the way stock photography is. The only way not to be hurt by these fees is not to participate. -

This one $ shows up today in Sales History but not in Reports. The one in an above post of the swimming pool sign is in Reports but not Sales History. Gremlins? Or just more (sigh) screwups? -

It’s about time they started paying off for you. Especially considering the time & effort you’ve put in. -
First ever QC failure in nearly 6 years.
John Mitchell replied to Brizbee's question in Community support: ask the forum
It's kinda too bad that QC doesn't include a comment on why an image like this has failed. Even a few words would be very helpful. I've always felt that "soft and lacking definition" is too vague. Just sayin'... ☺️ P.S. Have you emailed Alamy, Brian? I've done that in the past about iffy (IMO) failures and have gotten explanations. -

I loaded the website's hires version and punched in on the web image as much as it would allow. The splintered wood looks better. While the large broken tree is the main subject I wonder if the apparently blown-out whitish background (or cloudiness/fog/mist?) with the smaller trees in the upper and also left of image which look soft are the QC culprit? Due to the background and soft appearing area mentioned above personally I would not have submitted it. -

Had a welcome end-of-month surge today, including these two. Mid $$, editorial website - one of the post offices involved in the post office scandal. Low/med $$, magazine - New Forest ponies near the Balmer Lawn Hotel -

That's just unacceptable and makes me angry. To Alamy: The image has got to be worth more to the buyer than 16 cents or if not please just don't sell them. -

I wonder if some folks are just looking at the low res blurry preview.... Anyone making comments should download the full res image 4,500 x 3,000 pixel image and then inspect at 100% (or 200% on a retina screen) before making a judgement. I can see #253 and #254 but very, very faintly. IMO It's the texture of the bark in the photo in particular that has lost detail (NR has obliterated it). The splintered wood on the other hand still looks sharpish because the higher contrast linear features it contains have been enhanced by the sharpening, but the more subtle texture has gone. Mark -

I had several 0.02 with another agency, it was for China and I could not cut the country out of distribution. Therefore just cancelled my contract with that agency. On Alamy I so far did not have that low (with a very limited list of countries where I allow distribution and no NU of course) but it feels that we go that direction anyway. Had recently a ~$5 "standard" license of an RM image with nearly unlimited use allowed 😞 -

So did I answer you? Or you want me to elaborate something? Sorry for a mess in my initial post (i.e. "questions to your answer" instead of the opposite), was in the middle of a conference call...
