Comission rates

I have just sold an image to French TV for 80$. The distributor pocketed 40% Alamy then pocketed 60% ,  I end up with about 18$. Distributors rate is much too high. Should be 20% max, and Alamy is taking too much as well ,50% of these low fees is more than enough. The  Exclusive rate is really no value to professional photographers. We all know there is little benefit in being exclusive.

and many of the Alamy contributors are agencies in which cases the actual photographer is getting an even thinner portion of the pie

Sadly, it's a whole new ballgame now that the traditional (and fair IMO) 50/50 split has disappeared. ☹️

A picture of a child's face ( one of your kids I think), to Germany for billboards, advertising some sort of medical business/product

I also remember a long since departed contributor's sale of $35,000. It paid for his rent for a year.
