  3. I too probably would have uploaded it, although I prefer to use lower ISO's. Perhaps QC thought that there isn't a clearly identifiable plane or point of focus in your image. Also, as Jeff mentioned, fringing might have been an issue. That said, the PP experts here always see things that I don't.
  4. Thanks for the geography / sociology lesson. It sounds like a complicated patch of Merrie Olde England.
  5. I've never heard of Calder Valley, but chances are I'd like it too.
  6. Saddened to hear this news, but I'm happy to know that John is at peace. I'll enjoy exploring his blog, which I wasn't aware of, as I've always sensed a kindred spirit.
  7. The world has gotten more complicated, but I can't help feeling that there's more to all this than meets the eye (so to speak). It might not be just about perceived infringement. However, chances are we'll never know the whole story.
  8. Same thought crossed my mind. A quick look at Measures shows that there is certainly no shortage of "logo" searches by clients. Surely they couldn't all be "frivolous" as well?🙃
  9. Not sure, but it does suggest that a lot of PU and Presentation sales might not have actually been PU and Presentation sales. P.S. To be fair, though, anonymous e-commerce customers apparently now see only the Standard and Enhanced licensing options in search results -- i.e. it seems that the Personal and Presentation use options are gone except for clients with existing accounts.
  10. As discussed in another thread, Personal and Presentation sales appear to have morphed into Standard Licenses. I have only one PU sale this month (full price $19.99) and a bunch of "standards" for various prices up to $19.
  11. There are zillions of logos available at certain other stock agencies. This whole thing strikes me as nonsense. 🙄
  12. Yes, it sounds as if Alamy has been ambushed and decided to just pass the ambush along to some of its contributors. Very disconcerting indeed.
  13. I currently use the Sony a6000 and earlier NEX-6 cameras. Both are fine for Alamy, so it doesn't sound as if your camera is the issue. I also use Sony kit lenses for the most and have no problems with QC. All modern lenses -- even inexpensive ones -- can produce sharp pictures, you just have to get to know their limitations, etc.
