Adie
Aiden Clarke discovered this Alamy photograph taken by Howard Chew. The photograph is of a scuba diver and a giant red clam taken in the South China Sea. The photo appears in a wired report about China's vanishing giant clams written by Nic Cavell. The shortage appears to be as a result of over harvesting to feed a market for art made from the giant clam shells. These huge shells contain flesh which are a vital part of the food chain for predators and as such their decline has a huge impact on the eco system of the reef. http://www.wired.com/2016/02/blame-an-ivory-ban-for-chinas-vanishing-giant-clams/

Lynne
Elisabeth/Bryan, (didn't quote't as takes up too much space and is slightly off topic) key wording - I'm always surprised at my own attempts! When my images go live, I usually check where the image has been placed in that subject matter - often I can't find it because the words I used the day after key wording are different!! Often a different tense or phrase! Obviously I go back and add in the new ones! Adie
The Telegraph 11-2-16 uses a medical illustration of a human head (photographer Zoonar GmbH, image noted by Aiden Clarke) to show that lack of exercise at certain periods during someone's life can have the effect of making the brain shrink later on. A study has revealed that regular exercise between the ages of 40 and 50 can prevent the brain from getting smaller and could also increase life expectancy. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/12151369/Exercising-in-your-forties-could-stop-brain-shrinking.html
