Interesting stuff about the cataract surgery and the after effects Betty thanks.

In relation to Denoise, you don't need to do anything to prepare, just hit Denoise and it will do its thing. We had a conversation about this a little while back, I did some real world testing and it doesn't matter if you have done basic editing. It might be different if you have used local edits but even then it doesn't seem to matter.

However, the easiest thing is to do it at the start after importing the clip into Lightroom or opening it into ACR. It is well worth doing on high ISO images as it doesn't just do noise reduction, it also does some clever sharpening of the subject without sharpening background.

You’re welcome. I only sat at the doctor’s elbow & listened to him explain it over & over. Plus observing. I know vision correction enabled me to see the little things that caused a fail before eye surgery. One of those things was a tiny bit of purple fringing around a small clump of leaves in the top left corner, once. I had to laboriously work on removing that on many trees against a highly lit sky before Adobe LR & ACR developed to a point of getting rid of it.

I considered that as miraculous as people are now praising DeNoise.

Crikey, I forgot 6+ months ago me wifey got this but don't use it yet:

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 is a 2-in-1 convertible laptop with a 14-inch FHD touchscreen,
AMD Ryzen 5 5500U processor, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

Is this powerful enough to handle PS Denoise AI in minutes or less per DNG?
Until I get new high end laptop, I could use it JUST for that one purpose...
Aside: rediscovered me own Lenovo is !! 7.25 !! years old,
so yes, overdue for replacement, although works well, other than GPU issue...
regards jg

I'm afraid I can't help with Windows machines. My knowledge is limited to Macs.

You could just install the Adobe pacakge on that machine and see what happens. The licence allows you to install on two machines.

Adode sez this about whats needed for Denoise:

"Need for speed. Denoise is by far the most advanced of the three Enhance features and makes very intensive use of the GPU. For best performance, use a GPU with a large amount of memory, ideally at least 8 GB. On macOS, prefer an Apple silicon machine with lots of memory. On Windows, use GPUs with ML acceleration hardware, such as NVIDIA RTX with TensorCores. A faster GPU means faster results."
