September Winner

Hi all

In case you didn't see it, the voting closed on the September challenge. The winner was Ognyan Yosifov's stand-out portrait of a cat. Proof again that you don't need to travel miles to get great images, a concept taken to its pinnacle by Keith Morris, who, unbelievably, died just last weekend.

We have had no word from Ognyan Yusifov. If there is still no word by this Friday 11th it will go the the runner up to set the next subject. We have two runners up so on Friday I will set a short poll to decide between the two and the winner will set the next challenge. Does that sound acceptable to everyone?

We may need to add, when a challenge starts, that one must be able to run the next challenge, if you win.  In other words don’t enter if you can’t or are unwilling to run the challenge the next month.

Yes, I agree.

Or at least let us know after you win that it will need to pass to someone else.

Hi all !

I'm sorry for not responding on time...

First a big THANK YOU to Colin for picking my image for the competition and THANK YOU to all of you who voted for it.

... Guys, I check the forum EVERY DAY and read EVERY POST.

Even though I'm (on paper) with Alamy since 2013, I started uploading pictures from the late 2015. There were some occasional ups and

mostly downs for me and it wasn't until this last February, when I "discovered" the forum ( and I'm very ashamed because of this) just to realise

what stupid things I'd been doing with my account. Since then I've been trying to "save" what I can and to re-organise the things, so actually

I could say that I'm quite new here. And what is the most important - everything is getting better 🙂

YOU, GUYS, ARE GREAT !!! Extremely helpful.

So, since I'm mostly a "listener" than a "talker" on that forum, I think it will be fair the new challenge to be set by someone who is more proactive.

And I will be taking part again and again.

Thank you!

@Ognyan Yosifov I second Wim's idea - you should really do it - jump into the forum here with both feet!

Wim has made it easy for you!

runners up:

I had no idea. That must be why I am selling so many images and deciding whether to get an Aston Martin or a Bentley.

What about it then Ogynan? Are you up for it? With the safety net of all these fine folks, nothing can possibly go wrong. The tricky bit is setting up the poll at the end but I can walk you through all that.

Yes, for me it's the Brompton or the Giant at the moment.

(MOT - called APK here - is a great thing. Until, uhmm - you get the idea. 😥)

I went up to the recycling centre near me, to dispose of rubbish naturally, a little while ago and saw a "Brompton". Knowing a close neighbour was wanting one I told him straight away.

He dashed up to the recycling centre and secured it for a total payment of £10. Only needed two new tyres.

Wow! My Brompton (with titanium parts) is worth about the same our car was - before it failed the MOT. My wife's Brompton is worth even more. Good catch!

(Next time maybe if you spot a car...😂 )

Ok then, I give up 🙂

And thank you, Wim, for the list. I wondered about the previous Challenges.

Just give me some time, guys.

That's what I was thinking about - the poll...🤓 And I was pretty sure there's no poll ready for use 😋

Thank you, Colin!

Its not that bad. If you want to you can let me know your email address and I can help you without filling the forum pages with instructions on polls. If you don't want to put your email address on a public forum then you can get to me via my website www.colin-woods.pixels.com and let me know that way.
