Sue Burton
At present I am living and working in 2 different areas of the UK and as such am able to attend events for live news in both these areas but don't know where I can add an additional location to my existing ones so that I can Be notified of events in others area apart from my home location. Please advise.
fotoDogue
Alamy assignments? I don't think they exist. You can contact the Live News Team and let them know you're interested in any tips but, as far as I know, it's all on=spec.

mickfly
I've never heard of such a thing as assignments on Alamy? Interesting! What have I missed? Geoff, I've been offered at least 2 assignments but have been out of the country both times.
fotoDogue
I've been offered at least 2 assignments but have been out of the country both times. A real assignment where you're paid a fee to shoot?
Bryan
Isn't there a mechanism by which you can sign up to Alamy as a photographer willing to take on assignments in your area? I remember considering this and rejecting the idea - I'm retired and don't want the hassle of commissioned work - but what's not to like for a full time shooter? I don't know the details of the scheme, but had assumed that any contract would be between the photographer and the customer to sort out.
Joe
Rather than assignments, i think Sue is refering to the "upcoming events near you in the next four weeks" email, sent to regular news feed contributors at the end of every month. A Vpics said, contact the news team. Joe
Paul Thompson
I had a phone call from Alamy to see if I could go and photograph Nigel Farage for live news when he was canvasing in the next town to where I live. It was too late notice for me but understood the images would go on live news with no guarantees of a sale Regards Paul

No, sorry fotoDogue, bad phrasing. I've been asked to attend two events and shoot, with a view to providing Alamy with pictures. They also sent me details about a local project and offered a letter of accreditation for access.

One time they offered me credentials. Another time they sent a schedule and said they couldn't provide credentials ......but if I happen to be in the area...... Several months ago they asked me to upload to Live News from the field. I just presumed these emails go out to every Live News contributor in the area. It's good to get tips from the Live News team about what clients are looking for but I see it more as a suggestion than an assignment. fD
Phil Robinson
I've had a couple of calls asking me to cover local events - the kind of things usually that don't attract the national press in great numbers - the local bank holiday duck race and the World Custard Pie championships. But yes, they do know where we are and who to call for local coverage.
