Newspaper circulation figures

Hi all,

I had this through today but when I looked at the current UK newspaper circulation figures the numbers bore no resemblance. Any idea what newspaper has a print run of 2 million?

Most likely. Could also be Metro or Times, I've had all in "up to 2M".

I know, the Times isn't that high, but I think the circulation break is at 500,000. On that basis, could be Mirror or Star as well.

I just had a sale today for a U.K. newspaper with a 2 million print run (or up to) and when I did a Google search of the photo, it was the Daily Mail that had used it.

Ah, yes, Mail as well. I don't think I've ever been in the print edition, so didn't have one of those. It's about 1.3M.

I have a sale reported today that I know was used by the Scottish Daily Mail with the same details. Their images don’t seem to come up in a Google search.

Which paper is that do you think? (The Sunday Times?)

Hi Jansos. Print run of 2 million can be The Sun, yes. If it came through yesterday though, I THINK it might be the Daily Mail. They used to buy Alamy images lots, then stopped, but seem to be licensing again now.

 

I'm unsure about your 750K print run sale though.

 

The Sun and The Times are part of the same group, so their sales come in around the same time. So that's one way to help work out who bought what. My Sun/Times ones came through on the 25th this month.....I think. I haven't been keeping as tight a watch over who's using what as I used to.

I had a sale reported yesterday quoting up to 2 million which was in the Mail, which repeats a contribution earlier in this thread. Just looking at more recent months I've only seen 'up to 750,000' and 'up to 2 million'. Are they the only large circulation levels?
