TokyoM1ke
What's also frightening is that he implies that he has made more on commissions... I presume not for a single photograph... but then again I may be wrong!
John Mitchell
You would think that a million dollar potato would be much more difficult to swipe from the website. (not by me, honest. I'm trying to keep my weight down)

Martin P Wilson
It's the emperor's new clothes all over again... Good luck to anyone who has the brass neck to put that kind of number on their work and gets it! I agree but he was selling it on the back of an existing major reputation as I understood it. However good our picture, of pretty much anything, will never be worth 10% as much. The one exception might be if you got a unique news picture of a momentous moment. I think it was said here or another forum that Sebastian Salgado made enough from his pictures of the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan to buy a Paris apartment and a big car... Such rare opportunities are not simply the preserve of the famous phoptographer, it is down to being in the right place at the right time and a lot of luck, and the skill and nerve to take advantage of the moment.
