New search results format and CTR

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question. With the new search results format when a user zooms a photo it loads the image in a new page. Meaning they have to hit the back button to go back to the results. Does this mean that every time they go back to the page of results it's adding to your views tally which will in turn reduce the CTR considerable. The previous system didn't have this problem as a zoom opened up in a new window

Could it be that opening a zoom in a new tab or window does not count towards zooms?

Or the opposite: that a regular zoom, opening in the same window, does not count towards zooms?

I always choose to open in a new tab now that I have got used to the new system.

And maybe that doesn't count as a zoom as wim has suggested. Cause if I am not mistaken, the overall click through rate has been slipping daily.
