Lens Lust>Fastest lens now avail for Fuji X mount 40mm .85

Recommended Posts

Honestly, after having the XT-1 and walking around Nashville, then changing it up and walking around Denver in a big crowd and hot weather (for Denver this time of year) for two days, I have to say that the best addition to my Fuji Camera has been this (and I'm sure it's much less expensive)....

I can't do leather straps. They hurt my neck and I have a slight allergy too. I've used this Tamrac strap on all my cameras for about 20 years. It's foamy and bouncy and really balances camera and heavy lenses so good you don't feel the weight.

So tempting!  40mm  .085  is now available for the Fuji X mount

Here are some samples!

I like the samples but that is a big old lens..... I've seen quite a few comments suggesting a 50mm f/1.2 plus speed booster will give similar results for less weight and money. It would convert to approx. 35mm f/0.8.

That said, it's nice to see these specialist lenses appearing, can only be a good thing!

Yes, it means other suppliers see the X series as having a future. Just need the likes of SIgma, Tamron, Tokina to put out full AF lenses and then we know it has arrived.

Very true. I would love to see a Sigma macro lens. I loved the 150mm f/2.8 I had for the Canon, terrific lens.

Absobloodylutely!!

If you've never tried a neoprene "shock absorbing" type camera strap, you've never really given your neck/shoulder enough consideration imo. I truly believe using such a strap has enabled me to lug my Nikons around the world with nary a whimper of complaint from neck or shoulder.

Sorry Linda I see the heading gives .85 aperture but your post says .085. Now that would be a hell of a big lens. ;)

I have a spongy Tamrac strap, too. After multiple cameras over a couple of decades, I'm still using the same (now rather ratty looking but very comfortable ) strap.
