SvetlanaSF
It seems that the situation with distributors is even worse than I originally thought... Alamy is now charging me MORE than they are crediting me for sales through distributors where my account balance DECREASES after sales! This is simply ridiculous and I don't think it's legally compliant with the terms of the contract I had agreed to. It needs to be investigated and contributors need to be compensated accordingly. For clarity, we are talking about sales that already give us PENNIES, but when Alamy calculates their and the partner's commission, they round UP, resulting in charges to me which are HIGHER than the credit posted for the sale! I have a string of 3 sales where after each one of them, my balance went down and down, and down! This is nonsense! Is anyone else seeing that on their end?
Phil Crean
Have you asked Alamy for an explanation? Phil

Indeed this is ridiculous but I think the rounding up only happens in the reporting in the Dashboard. The actual figures won't reduce your balance. So you will get your penny or two. Sickening, isn't it? Paulette 1
spacecadet
You can't possibly be paying more than 100% commission, that's absurd. You have made a mistake, or had a refund, or some other explanation. In amy case, rounding is done in the contributor's favour. Alamy adopted that policy years ago. See the PA syndication deal, Alamy literally gives the image away to their parent company, and then charge 60% to the contributor.
SvetlanaSF
@Phil Crean Alamy is unable to resolve the issue, they refuse to look at the screenshot of my account transactions which shows a gradually reducing balance... They are stating that they are NOT charging me more than they are paying, when the evidence is to the contrary. @spacecadet I didn't think I could, but apparently that's not how Alamy thinks. As for me making a mistake, I find it unlikely. Sure, I don't have a PhD in Maths, but I can understand that the beginning balance of $100 is greater than the ending balance of $99.97 after several consecutive negative transactions. Though Alamy apparently cannot comprehend this.
