Bryan
I'm being polluted by an irritating advert popup in the bottom right corner of my screen. I find it impossible to get rid of unless I engage with it, when it will eventually close down. I have popups blocked in Chrome and have installed the Adaware blocker, but to no avail. Further I have scanned the computer using Malwarebytes. Any ideas?

Any exceptions in your blocker(s)? wim Hi Wim It says Google Chrome g4oc.sinnotbilela.info Just found this website that provides some solutions http://www.computips.org/remove-sinnotbilela-info/ I was able to follow the advice under Delete Sinnotbilela.info Notifications: and hope that might have cured it! Sadly not it is still popping up outside of Chrome Edited February 21, 2019 by Bryan
wiskerke
Searching for just sinnotbilela.info will get you some more and probably better remedies. wim

I'm currently running a Spyhunter scan.
Bryan
Latest, abandoned Spyhunter as it was taking forever to complete scan. Uninstalled the software when I was offered a discount price to stay with it. Useful to know if you do want to buy it. Scanned again using Malwarebytes advert removal tool, it removed some stuff, waiting to see if successful. Sadly not, advert has returned. MilesbeforeIsleep
I use Ghostery and UBlock Origin, both add-ons in my browser, which is Firefox (mostly).

Bryan
Thanks for the further suggestions. I'm away at present so can't access my PC. I have pop ups blocked in Chrome, but that doesn't stop this one. Weirdly the advert does not appear to pop up until I start Chrome, and when I move the browser to my second screen it remains on the first. I might try a different browser. Bryan
Latest on this. I can't get rid of the advert from Chrome, but, to date, it does not appear in Internet Explorer. Might uninstall Chrome and reinstall.
Bryan
Maybe too early for euphoria, but uninstalling and reinstalling chrome appears to have got rid of the popup advert 😕
John Gaffen
I use a program called SpyHunter, which can remove adware, trojans, ransomware, worms, viruses, rootkits, potentially unwanted programs, and other objects.
John Gaffen
Did not see that you already know about this program, it does take forever if you scan all you data files, but you can opt out of this on the custom scan setting. I have found this program very helpful in removing malicious software in the past. it was one of the only programs which actually cured my problem. Thanks John, I'll hold that one in reserve if my present solution fails. So far so good, the adds appear to have gone.. Not really sure what did the trick, but I scanned the machine with Malwarebytes and the associated ad removal software, installed the Adaware blocker, and finally uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome. When I noticed that it didn't affect Microsoft Edge that steered me in the direction of it being Chrome specific.
