Miguel
Hi - Can anyone give me guidance as to this type of owl - I have it down as a Northern Hawk Owl? thanks X
Imagery by Charly
I see its tethered, so perhaps you can contact the place you took it to find out? With this shot, it's quite difficult to say for sure the type.
Allan Bell
I'm only guessing here but from the plumage it looks like a young (juvinile) bird which does not have its adult feathers yet, so could be a little difficult to identify. I am no expert but looking through my wild birds book all the images of owls with the feathers as shown above are young and can be quite similar to each other regardless of species. AndyMelbourne
Possibly a young grey owl. The tunnelling feathers around its face directs me to this. I could easily be very wrong.
