Roman78
Just a quick introduction... My name is Roman, I'm 38 and from the Eifel in Germany. So lots of nature around here. Registered some weeks ago and already uploaded some pictures, unfortunately have to redo some of those because they are to dark and to less contrast. Learned not to edit pictures on the Laptop. Some more information about me. I'm a collector of old/vintage Computers from the 70's to the 90's. Also planned to upload some of those pictures. I like travelling, also always take my Camera with me. I'm always look like a tourist. Taking pictures is just a hobby for me, and I thought maybe to make some money whit it an invest that in some equipment. Oh and I'm from IT ... Did an ICT (Information Communication Technology) education in the Netherlands.
MDM
Hi Roman - we've already met as it was me who suggested your images were too dark and lacked contrast. Don't consider it unfortunate though that you are resubmitting the images. That is actually really good - no doubt the best way to learn is by making mistakes as you never forget them. The unfortunate thing would be if you decided your pictures were ok and didn't do anything about them. A lot of people take that approach and get insulted if their images are criticised. To be a good photographer, you have to be at least a bit of a perfectionist and able to take positive criticisim. I have never been to the Eifel although I've read a lot about it as I used to be a professional geologist, specialising in volcanology. Most people are not aware of the existence of the Eifel volcanoes and how recently the field was active which is quite fascinating - similarly with the Auvergne in France which has a similar origin. One day I'll take a trip to the Eifel for sure.
Roman78
Thanks Learning means making mistakes. And every comment/criticize about my pictures is welcome for me to make better pictures. Got one question: how can I upload some small pictures to this forum? Or do I have to upload it elsewhere and link it in here? When I Click on "my media", there is a Attachment field, but how can I upload something? Or do I have to made a minimum of posts before it's available? In the Help is written "The default uploader allows you to upload attachments one at a time. To begin, press the button." What button?

hdh
Welcome to the forum from Cologne. The Eifel is really a great place and I can only recommend visiting it, for everyone coming close. Albeit it is a huge volcanic area - still kind of active today with gas coming out at places - do not expect any vulcanic shaped mountains.
