Gary1701
Morning, Hello all from a new contributor based in Suffolk, UK. I say good morning but looking at the snow falling outside maybe not. A friend recently started uploading and he introduced me earlier this week so I decided to come on-board as well. I'm very specialised in that I shoot mostly aviation and military subjects, mostly as a hobby but very occasionally in the past I have freelanced for military publications as both a photographer and writer. My first dozen or so images have gone in okay so looking forward to putting up more from the thousands that I have shot over the years. I do have one question that has arisen from looking through images whilst researching the site prior to uploading earlier in the week. Is there any facility or option on the site to submit corrections to captions on uploaded images? I couldn't see anything and it's usually a option on other site like Airliners.Net that I've supported in the past. Looking at random images I did notice many incorrect captions on military and aviation subjects. The worst culprits are usually the military themselves, and I notice there's a lot of uploads from official military photographers on the site. It may seem strange that the military themselves don't know their own equipment but having worked alongside some of their photographers and PR people on official shoots before I'm not totally surprised! Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope to put loads more pics up as time allows. Gary Stedman Suffolk UK

NYCat
A lot of us would like to be able to do something about incorrect information in captions and keywords but all we have at this time is the ability to email Alamy and that has had mixed results. The more conscientious members do post questions in the forum about their images and ask for correct information. They usually get helpful answers but, unfortunately, we can't do much about the less than conscientious. Paulette
Joseph Clemson
Hello Gary, You can make changes to captions and keywords using Alamy Image Manager (AIM). You'll find it on your dashboard page. You'll also find in the forums massive amounts of recent discussion about AIM and the Alamy search engine as there have recently been some significant changes to both. Allan Bell
Hello Gary, If you have uploaded an image with a name, which is your reference for the image, and find it is wrong (typo for instance) the only way it can be changed is to contact Contributor Relations and give them the old reference and new reference and they will change it for you. Keith Douglas
I think Gary is referring to incorrect captions on other contributors images. There is no flagging system, so an email to Contributor Relations is the only way, and then presumably Alamy themselves would follow it up. Gary1701
Hi again, Many thanks for the kind words all. I will try and keep it up as I have a massive collection and will upload as time allows. I was referring to corrections on other photos but if there isn't an easy way it's probably not worth the time to try and sort each separately. I think I've got the hang of the image manager interface and am now key wording all the uploads from the weekend. Hi Kumar, I have a load of Indian Air Force images that will be going up soon!
