Anybody ever hear about a distribution partner called AOP in Litauen?

Don't know nuthin' about that, but may I take the opportunity to say that you people up in Norway have been making some terrific films and TV series of late: Occupied, The Heavy Weather War, and Headhunters are just a few. Go Norway!

I noticed one of my photos on a site in Denmark credited to Alamy/All Over Press. So far the only distributor sale that's been reported for that image was for the Russian Federation.

Same here, only thing is that, that distribution sale to Russian Federation was in 2012, with a license for only April/may that same year. The webside article I found is from 2014... and the only licensed sale for this particular image that year was in August to Switzerland... time to send a infringement report to Alamy...

My reported use was for one month to end  01 November 2015

I wonder if Where2Go is a legitimate site or one of those places that just grabs images from other sites.

I contacted Member Services with the URL and the only sales information I had for that image. Shiraz got back to me today and said they'd have the Distributor Team look into if. If you haven't yet contacted Member Services this would be a good time to do so.

I got a reply from MS today stating:

"We've just heard back from our Distribution team and the usage of your image AR7T92 will be billed in March."

We are talking about an image used in febr. 2014 here... so nice that they, after some encouragement from my side, now are willing to pay what they owe next month, more then 2 years after the fact... will be excited to see how much I will earn on this use... maybe $ 1,50. Not negative, just a realist!

Not liking much the this business is developing... I think I have found 5 none paid for images this last year. And this is not infringements, this is images obtained via among others Alamy, that are not paid for by the distrutor or direct client...

  • 3 weeks later...

And so I got paid for this use... I will end up with a grand total of... $1.60

The disturbing part though is that I needed to chase this (third party) sale myself, and that they now gave out a 1 year licence from the first of Febr this year for an image that has been used since February 2014...

Can somebody by the way explain me how this works...
Start: 01 February 2016
End: 01 February 2021
Duration: 1 year

How can a license have a duration of one year.. start in 2016 and end in 2021???

Mmm, it is a good thing that for me this is just a hobby... but I can see how this is really frustrating if you try to make a living out of this sh!t!

Happy Easter people, ;-D
