York Photographer
Anyone out there having problems with Chrome? Mine keeps locking up when I do searches, only task manager seems to kill it, then it works fine for a bit, then dies again. More pronounced earlier in the day, seems to settle down after a while. I'm on a PC using windows 7. Anyone got any ideas?
M.Chapman
I had a similar problem a while ago. I'm not at my PC at the moment, but I seem to recall turning off hardware or graphics acceleration somewhere in Chrome's settings fixed it. Bryan
Major problems with Chrome running under Win 10, apparently Google are working to sort things out.
Sami Hurmerinta
Mine stopped working last weekend. It just keeps crashing when I try to start it. I'm using Windows 10, but I've heard the same thing happening to other people using Windows 7 too
Craig Yates
Major problems with Chrome running under Win 10, apparently Google are working to sort things out. For me everything is stable under Win 10 including Chrome "touch wood". Regards Craig
Niels Quist
- and you are sure they are not the usual "waiting for proxy" problems? They appear on different times of the day if you do not handle them. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/106010?hl=en Cannot remember if I also changed another setting, though. Using it on 7 and 10, touch wood. My Windows 7 HP Pro laptop is still not ready for the update apparantly -
Bryan
Re-installed Chrome but it crashed again today, never had these problems with Win 7.
Niels Quist
I presume you have been around these possible causes, Bryan?: https://www.google.dk/#q=update+windows+7+to+windows+10+chrome+chrashing
spacecadet
This would be handy in the 'free upgrade to win10- too good to be true?' thread. I would advocate the removal of the question mark.
York Photographer
Re-installed Chrome but it crashed again today, never had these problems with Win 7. It doesn't seem to be working to well in 7 at the moment! However it hasn't crashed quite as much today
StanRohrer
Been having problems with Chrome in Win 7 for the last week. It hangs and doesn't complete a page load. For a while i thought it was a stalled advertising site or some hidden page beacon but I'm not convinced now. USA operations.
Bryan
Hope I'm not speaking too soon but Chrome appears to be working fine this morning under Win 10. Have had three windows open using two screens for about 30 mins without any problems, as yet..... Edit - I did speak too soon, it eventually crashed, but much better than recent performances. Similar experience here today, thought it was back to normal, then crashed twice in quick succession during searches. Been mainly OK since, apart from one crash when refreshing a window (not done that before)
