Martin P Wilson Posted September 15, 2014 Share Posted September 15, 2014 I am using Fuji ooc JPGs more than I thought, now my usual approach for news type stuff. The big test will come in November when I do the Classic Motor Show as I have had probelsm in the past with spotlights on highly polished cars leaving deep shadows that block up in most ooc JPGs - I nearly always need to lift the shadows and often there is nothing there in the JPG (so I always shoot Fine+RAW in such circumstances, not brave enough to forgo the Raw backup). How did you find the shadows or with the subject matter did you let the deep shadows go black, that is what I used to do with film. But the ooc JPGs solve my CA issue, another thread. I too use Fuji for all my day to day stuff and am really pleased with the results but haven't had the courage to shoot jpegs. This will change. I have also used my X-E1 with a Novoflex adaptor and my Nikon 200-400. Some of these are on Alamy somehwere.. Portmerion is right in my back yard and I didn't know about the festival..... I have essentially the same three bodies....with relation to ISO, I've been shockingly surprised as well. I have an image in my portfolio here at Alamy that I shot with the XT-1 at 26,500 iso. Seriously - that's not a typo 26,500 iso. I was very surprised at the result and it is certainly still a usable image.
