Perry
As I am redoing keywording going through all my uploads (Ctr 0.0. Now after a few hundred up to 0.50!!) I noticed I have to change a lot from Royalty free to RM missing licenses. Mostly logotype issues. Going through everything again I thought I do it right this time But when you do this, this message pops up. This image cannot be Royalty Free or Rights Managaed.- Exclusive because it does not have the necessary model and/or property releases. If the image has not sold, it will be changed to Rights Managed within 3 months, and will remain on sale. If it has sold, it will be deleted within 3 months. To sell it as Rights Managed you will have to resubmit. Does this mean I have to wait 3 month for the change and in the meanwhile the image can't be sold? After being sold. Is the sale vallid? And is it the buyer who decides to buy it anyhow without proper license? Somehow confused. And why should it take 3 months to change the rights? Any advice on this would be helpfull. Thanks in advance Perry Just notice I better should have posted this in the Alamy Quality Control and technical queries section
spacecadet
The image stays on sale. The delay is for any pending sales to come through.
Perry
Thanks Mark for the quick reply, Still don't understand that once it is sold it will be deleted, and will have to be resubmitted. Is it because Alamy can't change the rights once it is up for sale? Sorry for the confusion. But I as a newbie I am missing the point here I think. Jill Morgan
They are saying if it sells in the 3 months, or if it has sold in the past as a Royalty Free image, you can't change it to RM. It would have to be resubmitted and then of course it would have a different file number than the original. Once sold RF to one customer, you can't sell it RM to another. Tevildiel
Hello, sorry to bump an old thread, but this was the only one I could find that was the topic I need answers about. I know in the past if you mistakenly designated an image as RF that didn't have the right releases and should have been RM, you could go into Manage Images, state that there were people/property in the image and you didn't have releases, and you'd get the message Perry originally quoted - "This image cannot be Royalty Free or Rights Managaed.- Exclusive because it does not have the necessary model and/or property releases. If the image has not sold, it will be changed to Rights Managed within 3 months, and will remain on sale. If it has sold, it will be deleted within 3 months. To sell it as Rights Managed you will have to resubmit." I've never had trouble with this in the past and designated images (none of which had ever sold) have shifted smoothly to RM in exactly three months, but no longer. It's been almost four months since I've requested the latest change with no results, and no typical e-mail alerting me that the change was requested. Has the system changed without the notice following suit? Would love answers on this.
