Not even one sale

Hi from London, 

 

I am quite new to stocks but doing photography for years. Uploaded some start up images, various subjects and style but still close to my aesthetic feel. I have been commissioned and published in many magazines so I am sure my images are good enough quality wise. Not sure why after few weeks I don't have any sale yet? Any advice?

It takes much, much longer than a few weeks to get sales on Alamy. It is not microstock.

Thanks Paulette, seems like I need to learn patience. Maybe if I upload few k of images then it will speed up and get some sales ;)

Pawel, your images look really good. If continue to submit more images regularly and hang in there, you should do okay on Alamy. If you (understandably) get discourage or stop producing until Alamy makes sale for you, you will probably fail here. Good luck to you.

Don't forget that the competition for beautiful landscapes and historical architecture is HUGE. Unfortunately, markets are now saturated with images like these. Also, if you have the same images on microstock sites, it might be hurting your possibility of making sales on Alamy (however, not everyone agrees with this). I don't mean to sound discouraging. Keep submitting and think about adding some different types of subject matter. All kinds of subjects can license on Alamy, but most photo buyers seem to come here for editorial images that they are having trouble finding elsewhere.

For photos like the one above, sure you have location information since many Alamy customers are searching for travel images. You need to realize the main way people find your photos is via keywords, so check yours carefully. Good luck.

Marianne - I am shocked as this description/title and keywords I have uploaded with completely different image. It seems that it messed up somehow during the process. I will double check all my titles and keywords now as this looks not good at all.

Make sure you deselect the image(s) you were working on before starting to tag another group, or the info you added to the previous image(s) will be overwritten or added to. This has caught a lot of people out.
