lorenza
It's only been a year since I've worked with Alamy and some things are not clear to me. Can you help me to understand better? Is the date when an image is downloaded and then sold communicated? Is it true that more months can pass from the sale to the payment to the contributor? I can not understand why, at the current date I have only 9 zoom, how much do they count, according to your experience? thank you!!!

You can see when some images have been viewed or zoomed but not if (or when) they were downloaded. It can be several months between an image being used and the customer being invoiced (you will see invoice date in your sales report). It can be several months more before payment is received, especially if sale is via a distributor or if you haven't exceeded the $50 threshold Some sales however go through quickly. Personal use sales are reported next day and payment is usually next month Your 9 zooms from 2456 images over 12 months would be rather low. What time period have you set? I'm averaging about 1,000 views and 5 zooms a week (CTR = 0.5%) from 3,600 images, and I'm probably only an "average" contributor Mark

Cryptoprocta
Might it be possible for you to get releases from the parents of the children whose hands are in the finger painting photos? The kids can't be identified, so they might be willing, offer them the photos in exchange. I say that because there are hundreds of this subject in cheaper outlets, fully released, so they'd be a hard sell here unreleased.
lorenza
Ciao Elizabeth Hello The hands of the photos are of my nephew ... I enjoyed a lot 'with him to paint and I dabbed with the camera. Certp, you're right, I have a lot of competition for that kind. My images are mostly photos of places and mountains ... and here in Italy (in Trentino Alto Adige) ... I still think those pics would have a much better chance of selling if release, However, I'm not sure if Alamy accepts Italian model releases (hopefully someone here will know), and I can understand reluctance to sign a release with legalese in another language. I know many Italians have excellent English, but legal language is very specialised, and I don't always understand all the implications.

A zoom can translate into sales or is not it always? I have read that from the sale to the customer to the notification on your profile by alamuy can spend a lot of time, is this true? Less than half of my zooms resulted in a sale. Most zooms seem to be for pictures that then end up copied without permission onto junk websites. Sales are reported quickly usually, unless they are for a newspaper, as I understand it. I noticed that you are just using American spellings eg color, so I would suggest you add the British spellings too. Doc
Hi Lorenza Zooms are not a particularly good indicator of which of your images will then sell, but they are quite a good indicator overall as to how interested the buyers in Alamys "buyers group" are interested in your particular images. For example, if someone is having a lot of views and no zooms, that shows there is not much interest in the images, whereas if someone is having a lot of zooms for the same number of views, then that shows interest from the buyers. That is what the CTR shows you - the ratio overall of zooms to views x100. The average CTR on Alamy, according to Alamy, is presently 0.55, ie ratio of about 1 zoom for every 180 views. What is your overall CTR? I have found from prolonged experience, that I get about 3.5 zooms for every 1 image sold. Kumar (the Doc one)

Kumar (the Doc one) Thanks Kumar, currently my CTR is 0.17, as I said it is only a year that I am enrolled in alamy and I have about 2500 images. It is not high, until now I had 6 sales, two of which preceded by the zoom. Let's go on, let's see if I can do better !!!! Another question? The site is updated once a day, we see the day after what happened the day before, right ??? Did I have a good intuition?
