Betty LaRue
These flowers are growing next to the curb in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They appear to be coreopsis to me but the leaves have me flummoxed. Most coreopsis seem to have needle-like or slender leaves, and these leaves don't fit that. I have spent two hours researching and still can't get an ID. Help appreciated! https://www.dropbox.com/preview/_ALI1807-yellow flower.jpg?role=personal
Allan Bell
Sorry can't see the image. Dropbox (gooooooogle) is asking me to sign in to a non-existent account. Allan Edited October 23, 2017 by Allan Bell
Southmind
In cannot see you image but I use sometime this free service : http://identify.plantnet-project.org made by scientists. It works better with crop of flowers or leaves to identify a plant. It is in french but not too hard to understand. Betty LaRue
The link worked when I first posted it. I’ve not used Dropbox for ages and they’ve changed some things. I’ll check it, not that I can figure it out. Sorry! https://www.dropbox.com/s/cyen6388t9w7hfu/_ALI1807-yellow flower.jpg?dl=0 Its working for the moment Edited October 23, 2017 by Betty LaRue add text

No wonder I couldn't find what I needed in the hundred coreopsis flowers/plants I viewed. Thank you! I always hate asking the forum to do my work for me. I always put in the work. It's just not always fruitful. I've seen clumps of these flowers along the city streets in various places around town recently, a lot of them near the curb. I do think maybe the last link I posted works, give it a view and see if you agree. Betty ps...when I checked out the link just now, it gave me the Dropbox page. I closed it out and did it again and got the image. Try a couple of times. Edited October 23, 2017 by Betty LaRue
Southmind
Yes it looks like the Verbesina encelioides the golden crown beard, the leafs seems to be very similar.
Betty LaRue
Thanks, I really needed confirmation. If only everyone else would try to get IDs right. I’m sure I may have made mistakes. It makes me think I should go through all of my plants and re-identify. That might be a chore and busy work. It’s not that I’m a plant/flower photographer, but I grab them when they smack me in the face. most of the flowers I shoot I know. Some I’ve had to scratch for. Those are the ones I’ll check again. I saved that website, it’s a dandy. That will probably make re-ID easier. I love this forum. Betty
Southmind
You are welcome. The site is not perfect but it improves with time. There is a mobile App available too : PlantNet , you can use outdoor. Like you, I am not a plant photographer but from time to time... I can't resist
