Joe
My partner`s looking to replace her ageing Samsung laptop. She will be using it primarily for architechtural work - running Auto Cad, Office..., but would also like to be able to install Lightroom and possible Photoshop to reboot her dormant Alamy activity. I`d be grateful if anyone could recommend minimum spec ( Windows not Mac). Her budget is £500 ish. Thanks Joe
Niels Quist
Perhaps this forum is not the most suitable for AutoCad questions, but the Internet is your friend: http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-AutoCAD.html

Jill Morgan
I would think with the programs she wants to run, primary consideration should be lots of RAM, and expandable. Jill
PatrioticAlien
I think this explains, what you should be looking for: http://www.nvidia.com/object/best-cad-components.html Truthfully, your budget is very low. However, if you look second hard it starts becoming possible. For your budget, i would recommend a desktop; truthfully you will get a better bang for buck as they say
Armstrong
How about renewing the life of her existing laptop with an SSD and maxed out RAM? IMHO putting an SSD into my Mac was the best thing I have done in terms of upgrades. Michael
