Ed Rooney
Do any of you use flash drives for backup storage instead of stand alone HDs? Hey! This is not the dumbest question I've ever asked.
PatrioticAlien
I would only use one temporally a few days to a week at the max. The pain of doing recovery from my expience is too painful. Flash drives are like SSD's great for speed excellent for dieing suddenly and a very low recovery rate! *based on my experience with them. I could not replace my HD's with flash, even though flash cards are very cheap. HDDs give me so much better (99.999%) recovery possibilitys in the long term and if they die I can always get it back. Jill Morgan
Cost wise it wouldn't really be that effective would it? And organizing them would be such a pain! I'll stick with my 2 1TB WD portable drives. Jill
spacecadet
Not the answer you expected but as I shoot jpeg the 16GB card in the camera serves as an extra short-term backup until it's full. Capacity nearly 3000. But that's all.
