laptop shade or laptop tent or...?

Recommended Posts

anyone using?
I process using laptop on recliner by picture window with amazing 25th floor view;
spoiled yes, want the bright view AND want laptop monitor in the dark...
I used to raise & lower window shade as needed but its complicated;
recently I've kept it lowered to head level but then can't see almost entire sky
would laptop shade or tent work? other method?

would working hands rub against shade or tent?
comments from those with first-hand experience appreciated;
did you employ one & then give it up -- why?
thanks in advance 😎__😎__😎

Oh, you want your cake & eat it too? Good luck. I like the same. I need to feel connected to outdoors. Although I do give it up and have a darker work environment. I never work over 2-3 hours on my photos. Otherwise, all my windows are exposed to light.

let's find a cardboard box of the right size
& test its light-reducing abilities
before buying a shade system...

And maybe add a black umbrella, which you may already have.

How funny. I actually wrote a cardboard box idea for you but deleted it because I was afraid you’d think it stupid! 🤣

For some years I've been using a black umbrella opened in my car to shield my MacBook's screen when editing and uploading. Simple and effective.

I have small black ones for everyday travel, but a big deep one for my laptop. And a baseball hat, because the reflection of the sun on my face is sometimes worse than sun glare on the screen.

On a set you'll see lots of black EZ-ups. I only have white ones, but a piece of black cloth usually works. Every photographer has heaps of those. Or maybe photoshop has done away with that. In the US (like at Walmart) there are EZ-up clones available for under $100. I recently bought a dark grey one here for half that, but it lets through sunshine and rain. Plus it's slower to set up. So not a good buy and not recommended. It is a lot lighter than the originals though.
